My Question or Issue
Spotify is failing to load on my TV, it was fine on Sunday 4th May, but on Monday it wouldn't load, and it won't load today either. Nothing has changed on my TV, and I can still use it on my laptop and my phone. Is anyone else having this problem?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The factory reset worked, and I now have Spotify installed on my TV again! Plus I've managed to send all my playlists to it from my laptop. Many thanks for all your support and assistance!
Hey @ian_whitehead-cy,
Thanks for reaching out & sorry to see you've been having issues with your Spotify app on the Android TV!
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far? If not, I'd first recommend reinstalling the Spotify app from the app store.
If this doesn't make a difference, see if removing and reconnecting your internet access to the TV would help out. You can also try using a different internet connection like a hotspot instead.
Should the issue remain, we'd like to ask you for the Android version of your TV. The setting location depends on the TV model but it should be under Select System → About → Version / Select Device Preferences → About → Version or something similar.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted on how things go 🙂
I've managed to uninstall Spotify as per your suggestion, but I can't find any option to re-install it. Can you give me really detailed instructions please? As you have probably deducted, I am a complete technophobe!
Hey @ian_whitehead-cy,
Thanks for getting back to us!
No worries. You can install the app again by following these steps:
If you're still having issues after installing the app, make sure to let us know the Android version of your TV which can be found by following the steps that @Vasil shared above.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Hi, there doesn't appear to be a Select System or Select Device Preferences or anything like it, and I can't find the app store either! I have a Sony Bravia TV, does that help?
Further to my post and your ago, have since found out that the TV is a Sony Bravia 2015, Version 7.0. Really hope you can help me with this!
Thanks for your replies and the info, @ian_whitehead-cy!
Since you mention you're not seeing an app store on TV and can't find Spotify, it's possible that your device's model doesn't support apps correctly. We'd suggest checking out this video from Sony to see if you can get apps on your TV by following the steps mentioned in it.
If that doesn't do the trick, you could try performing a factory reset on the TV to see if that makes any difference.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
