My Question or Issue

I am a spotify alpha tester, so I count with stuff like this happening, however this has been an issue for me for almost 3 days. Whenever i try to open spotify app, it gives me black screen for like 2-3 seconds and then crashes. I have no idea how to fix it and didn't find anyone complaining about this, so I think it might be just my issue. I also tried to reinstall the app 5 times, leaving and joining the beta test app and it did the same thing in normal version too. I tried restarting my phone multiple times too, but it didn't work. Tank you in advance for your help. I hope this can be resolved asap, so I won't be without music for too long. Robert.

I've downgraded to version 8.9.36.616 which seems to work fine

Having the same issue on my s23u, left the beta but I'm still crashing.

Thanks for reaching out to Community and welcome!

 

Just to check, and in case we have to report the situation, can you all confirm if the Beta app and the normal Spotify app are both crashing? Additionally, send over the exact make, model, OS, and Spotify version you have installed.

 

On another note, we'd recommend making sure you perform a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. And if possible, could you install both versions of the app on a different device and see if it happens there?

Thanks for your replies.

 

Note that alpha/beta testers can report issues in TestFlight through the link Send Beta Feedback

 

If you've left the program, be aware that it may take some time before you see the official release in the Google Play Store, so you're most probably still using the alpha/beta version.

 

Try reinstalling after 24 hours and let us know if the issue persists with the official release of the Spotify app.
