I'm new to spotify. Loved it, but today it said my free trial was over and I had to upgrade to premium for on demand mobile streaming. I have signed up for the unlimited package and also reinstalled the app, but am still unable to play anything, just get the same message about premium.

Heya!

If you say you signed up for the "unlimted package" do you mean Spotify Unlimited (4,99 per month)?

Because with Unlimited you can stream without advertisement but you cannot use Spotify on your mobile device. You would need the Premium service (9,99 a month) to do that.

If you upgraded to Premium but still get the message have a read at this topic.

Ah, so although the free trial worked really well, I now have no other option than paying a tenner a month!? Looks like I've wasted a fiver already then.

If you wish to use Spotify on mobile devices, such as phones or tablets then you need a spotify premium subscription.

If you decide on going to Premium and don't want to wait till your Unlimited is used up, I think you can let your remaining Unlimited days convert into Premium days. Ratio should be 1:2 - not sure though. But it's worth a shot at the Customer Online Support. 😉
