Friends Feed Panel

Hi Spotify Community,

i recently discovered the friends feed on my laptop- can all of my followers (randoms) see what I am actively listening too in that friends feed panel or can only my Facebook friends see that?
Thank you in advance if anyone knows.

😊🙏🏼

Hi @misoooo,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

By default, anyone who follows you on Spotify (not just Facebook friends) can see what you’re listening to via Friend Activity if they’re using the desktop app.

There currently isn’t a way to limit which of your followers will see your listening activity in their Friend Activity. However, if this is something you’re interested in, you can feel free to submit an idea to the Idea Exchange; this FAQ article has information regarding what to know before submitting an idea to the Idea Exchange, and this related FAQ article has information about how to submit your idea.

In the meantime, you can always start a Private Session to prevent songs you listen to from showing up in the Friend Activity panels of the Spotify users following you during the Private Session. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to permanently hide your listening activity from appearing in your followers’ Friend Activity feeds, you can toggle “Share my listening activity on Spotify” to “off” (grey instead of green) in Settings -> Social.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

@TreyAnastasio Thank you so much for explaining. I still have problems to see my friends in my friends feed though even though we both are sharing our listening activitiy. It keeps telling me to connect with facebook. I sadly cant see any of the people i follow and cant even find facebook friends after conneting my spotify with facebook.  If theres any solution for that id be very grateful - i tried signing out on all devices and my spotify is up to date. 🙂

Thank you very much for all the help- i appreciate it 🙂

Hi @misoooo,

Thank you for your reply!

Can you check very carefully the Top Answer in this thread, and make sure that the steps under "all of the below must be true for users to show in your Friend Feed" have all been taken and are true?

I look forward to your reply, and hope you’re having a good day!
