Troubleshooting on PC

My spotify used to work on my laptop and on my phone.  Now, it will no longer work on my laptop. I have tried logging out on my laptop and still, it refuses to play music whenever I hit the play button.  I assume that this is an issue because I have not updated to the latest version.  If so, how do I force this update to reinstall?  Do I need to delete the app entirely and then download it again from the website?

Additionally, how can I activate a group session on my laptop?  I can start a group session on my iphone, but for some reason the option does not appear on the laptop version of the app.

Hi @Jay0701

Often if Spotify refuses to play, and the affected user is sure that it's not a network issue, we usually suggest a clean reinstall.

Please follow these instructions. I recommend installing the version from the Microsoft Store, as it usually works better with updates and other elements, in my experience. You can install this version, here.

If a clean reinstall doesn't help, you could try clearing your host files.

You can find instructions here.

Remote Group Sessions are not available on the Desktop app. You can find more information here.

If you would like this feature to be added, you can vote for it here.

If neither of the above solutions helps, please let me know.
