Ugh, I can't believe I messed with this. I thought unlinking my Facebook would refresh some of the Facebook Social information (recently friended someone and didn't see his information on Spotify). Unfortunately I guess I originally created my account with Facebook so when I did this it somehow deleted my information and is recognizing me as a new user.
Is there any way I could recover that information?? I spent a lot of time crafting my lists...and it sucks to lose them. Plus I was thinking of upgrading in the next couple months. Not really something I care to do if it's going to be this easy to lose my information...
Please let me know where I can e-mail you my information so I can hopefully get this straightened out.

I'm having the same problem too. How do I delete the second account?
I am having the same issue. I believe I only used facebook to sign in and lost all of my playlists when I unlinked facebook. How do I find out if I have two accounts and how can I delete the empty one so I can start using my playlists again?

Hey I have the same problem. I was logged in to Spotify through Facebook from the start and I've lost access to it. It created a second account. Please help!!!
Hi. I've disconnected my facebook account from my spotify account, and since I've had signed up on facebook, I lost all of my info (playlists, etc). I've tried to log on again, but I suddenly found myself with a new account and no info whatsoever. On top of that my account is premium, and the last payment was at March 16th. Now it says I will have a new payment at the 27th. I guess it must have created a new account on top of my old one.
Can anyone help me fix this?

It sounds like you might have accidentally created and logged into a duplicate account (and you might have subscribed on that one too?)
Try following the steps outlined in this post and see if they can get you back into your original account. If not, there is a link in that post to get in touch with the Spotify team directly. If you end up being billed twice, be sure to let them know and they will be happy to help you out.

Thanks for the info. I've already contacted spotify services and the problem is fixed. I disconnected the account from facebook, and opened a new account without realising it. All fixed now.
As a plus, I now use spotify independently from facebook, which is what I wanted in the first place.

Thank you Peter. This didn't work. Specifically, Step 3: "However, your Facebook account will still be connected to the new Spotify account. To break this connection, connect to Facebook from within the desktop application. You can do this in Preferences > Social Network"
There is not "Social Network" option within Preferences.... I think I may have created a new account under the same email address. Is that even possible?

You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to track down your unlimited account for you 😉
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I, too, have lost all of my playlists from the past almost year!
