Sorry Wrong Password

Solved!

Sorry Wrong Password

I was in the process of re-subscribing to Spotify Premium when I encountered the "Sorry Wrong Password" error. I receive this error in every browser (and after logging out of Facebook). It seems users have been having this problem for months not and it is ridiculous that your development team can't take care of such an important issue.

You are losing a great deal of customers over it including this one.

Marked as solution

yesterday i tried all browsers on my PC, now i tried chrome on MAC.. not working BUT safari works!

but thats not a solution... pls spotify fix this. seems to be a cache/cookie thing. 😞

I got the same problem here. I wanted to cancel my Premium trial, but in the last step (where I have to give my password) the website always says that my password is wrong.

I'm using Firefox on Linux (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0) and I noticed, that the nonfree flashplugin (i.e. the "Adobe" flashplugin) is crashing constantly on that page. It recovers immediately after a crash and crashes right away.

I hope this is solved until 21st of May, otherwise I will need to reverse the payment. That would be really uncomfortable...

Edit: It worked after logging out of facebook, restarting the browser and restarting the subscription cancelling process.

klapskalli & skav3n- Glad to hear you were both able to sort it out by changing browsers/ logging out of Facebook.

I can assure we're looking into why this is happening to make this easier for everyone.

Zappa1- I recommend making sure the card you're using meets all of the requirements below:

1. The country set in your Spotify account profile must match the country where your card is registered.

2. Your card should be enabled for e-commerce transactions (Verified by Visa/Mastercard securecard card).

3. Your card must be open to be used for foreign purchases.

4. There are some banks that require other security authentifications, the most common one being 3DSecure.

Then give it another try (again, be sure you're logged out of Facebook first).

Ran into the same problem but found a solution for this, cancel your current active credit card, then just simply click "upgrade" again, then fill out the same CC number and etc. (Or another one, doesn't matter of course) After this everything should work 🙂

You're welcome. SPREAD THE WORD!

Worked like a charm - I've been trying to upgrade for a week! Checking back every couple of days to see if it would work until I googled the issue and your answer solved the problem! (Spotify should pay you - and then copy and paste your response to use as their own). I was also very happy to see that Spotify saved my info so I didn't have to enter my CC stuff all over again! Thank you!!! LOVE my Spotify!

Upgrade to premium - sorry wrong password error.

Resolved by removing details of an expired credit card in my account details.
