[Desktop] An option to disable automatic updates

Some of us are tired of having these terrible updates forced upon us on desktop. Having the option to use older versions of the software without being forced to update would be extremely useful.

Spotify, do you have ANY idea how frustrating it is to log on to the service you PAY for only to be immediately forced into an update that is riddled with bugs and removes features you loved? I'm so sick of it. Give us the option to opt out of automatic updates. If nothing else that will give us the option to wait a few weeks until all the new bugs are patched out. Though also having the ability to use features Spotify abandoned for no reason other than making the web player, mobile app, and desktop app match would also be welcome.

Why isn't this an option to begin with? This makes no sense. I hate, Hate, HATE applications doing things I didn't ask them to do. Particularly downloading and executing random code from the internet. This behavior would never be allowed by ANY App Store from a reputable source (on the Mac, the App Store controls updates which can be turned off). The concept this is an "Idea" is ludicrous. Somebody decided not to let users control this behavior. PLEASE be a responsible software vendor and allow this in Preferences. (BTW, if somebody hacks your update process every one of your customers will get hacked as well.)
