February 2019 Ideas Review
Every month the Community Team reviews our Ideas Board. In this blog we'll present some of the ones we’ve updated in the past month!
Want to know what's been going on in the Ideas Board in the last 30 days? Let's take a look...
We're very happy to announce that Spotify is now available in India. You can check out the press release here.

3. Swipe Gestures for Mac Trackpad

5. Wish Box for missing Tracks & Artists
We're switching this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
6. View all Playlist Followers
8. Play multiple selected Playlists
9. Opt out of live songs
10. Sorting Options for List of Playlists
11. Make Spotify Connect a Choice
12. Warning when a Track is removed from Spotify
We're actively bringing your comments and feedback to the teams here so they know which features are important to you. If you've got a good idea, you can submit it here.

I don't get it- why is the 'Getting the old playlist sorting back' idea that was posted in February and garnered more than a thousand votes have just been marked as a new idea again when we entered March? Are you guys this negligent and insistent on removing ease-of-use and accessibility in order to look cool like some chic modern art café?
This is it, I am tired of this nonchalance and this habitual practice of regarding your customers as preschoolers. Goodbye Spotify.
Thanks for reaching out about this.
As far as we can tell, the idea you're referring to (this one) is currently marked as 'Not Right Now'. Did we miss something? If so, let us know and we'll be happy to clarify.
Thanks! We'll be looking out for your reply.
No, I think he meant this one. The other one seems to be from 2012(!).As with the new update (at least new for me) there is no possibility to go to the songs saved from one artist, since the artists in the artist tab only lead to their respective artist page. Instead we have one giant "Liked Songs" Playlist (5000+ tracks) with every song we saved, which we should go through, just to play the songs we like from an artist? In which filtering for a string plays every song, which has the string somwhere in their title's, artist's or album's name?Or are we supposed to create a Playlist for every artist, with only the songs we like from them? That would take hours, and it doesn't help decluddering the UI. Saving Albums is also not an option, since there are a lot of them, which consist half of instrumentals and live versions, that one might not like to hear; or are Singles and EP's which make you switch Albums every few minutes.
Also Saving a whole album makes it appear in the "Album" tab solely, while saving a whole album apart from a few songs makes the songs appear in "Liked Songs" not in the Album tab.I don't see any advantages in the new UI and sorting, and I am genuinly mad about how inconvenient it is. If this doesn't get fixed soon I really have to consider changing to another platform.
@Peter, Sorry for the confusion- what I meant was this! I understand that there are loads of other issues that must be looked into, but I'm frankly dumbfounded why would the search function be hidden under context menus.
Hey @Redinferno - no worries :)
Apologies for the confusion - the Idea was changed by mistake so we reverted it back to its previous status.
We'll update its status as soon as we have more information. Thanks!
Bring back the easy function for IOS in playlists to add songs on your queue, before you could search the song in a playlist and add it on your queue by sliding your finger to the right. And now you have to “click” on the three dots on the right, it is harder and slower that way.
Please and Thank you
Allow your customers to change their address on their Spotify account when they move home so they don’t have to cancel their account please. It’s so frustrating!
Hey @cxox02 ,
There's an idea for that here - make sure to vote for it!
What if you brought a feature to Spotify where, When you travel to a different county or town a playlist would be made of all the top local artists in that area. It’s a simple idea but I think It would be good for the people that like discovering new music. Also it would give the upcoming artists a opportunity to be heard. It’s like the discovery playlist 2.0
let me know what you think.
Thanks for coming to the Community. I'd recommend you suggest this idea in the Community Ideas Exchange. This will allow users and Community Moderators to vote and comment on it. However, make sure to search for it before to make sure it hasn't been posted before.
You can find more info on how the Ideas Exchange works here :)
Have a nice day!
Please! Stop making silly updates to the app... It's already good and with each new "idea" (sarcasm) they make it worse and worse, and each time they make it more complex...
In the last update for IOS, they took the slide to the left to be able to put the song in the reproduction queue.
They should go back to the way they were before... before they were very good... they should bring back the "dynamic font size" to be able to have the text of the size that is more comfortable for us...
PLEASE! NO MORE! I insist, with each update it gets worse MORE AND MORE

Need to be able to sort playlists by more than just Title/Artist/Album/Date added & time.
GENRE is the main one you need, but if you could somnehow add BPM in there, that would be sweet to.
Ive seen heaps and heaps of posts about this, would you guys have this in the works by chance?
The function of discord that allows us to listen together with our friends in Discord should be able to activate without discord. If you put that option on spotify I will be really glad.
Currently, I have so many playlist on spotify and it will be hard to me if I want to play another playlist because I need to scrolling down and make sure not missed what I looking for, if I missed I need to going up and scrolling down again.
It will be great if I can put the playlist on a folder, or like sub-tree.
Add Mini Player Option to the Desktop Version
The ads are always louder in volume than the music. Please fix.
ANOTHER BAD IDEA FOR LATEST UPDATE:
I updated iOS a few days ago & today noticed that moving a track which you are playing (normally highlighted in green when being played) suddenly becomes the same colour as EVERY OTHER TRACK ON THE PLAYLIST (white) the instant you click edit to transfer the track being white. Having the track in green was a help when moving a track & going back to the original playlist you wanted to then delete it from. Now I have to scroll through 100 tracks (sometimes more) & have to read every track until I reach the track being transferred from the originating playlist.
I could just leave the track on both Playlists but it’s such a nuisance having duplicates. It was much better playing the track, moving it to its destination playlist, then quickly scan the originating playlist for the track in green in order to delete it.
As someone else mentioned in another thread it appears Spotify just employ tech types to tinker with updates & functionality to appear hip or justification fly their salary. But seriously if something already works well & has ease of use for us subscribers why tinker & actually make things worse?
PS: I use Spotify mainly on iPhone X.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this.
Would you mind creating a new topic about this in the iOS help board on the Community? Just head here to do so and a member of the Community will get back to you as soon as possible.
Where is the March 2019 Ideas Review, or have Soptify stopped listening to their customers. Some things should be simple to impliment (like Landscape mode, first suggested in 2014)!
Ideas are nice, as it will keep innovating Spotify. However, most users have never posted anything and how come? How many users does Spotify have and how many logs in to engage? My guess is less than one percent....
Therefore, the best ideas have to be proposed back to the full user mass, giving people an actual voice in a voting democracy.
Right now, I hate Spotify on my phone, as you have made it even more difficult than before to delete a song from a playlist. This should be SO simple to do, so why make it harder than it was? You can no longer even see in edit mode, which song is playing. Having to manually read the entire list in order to find it, is just bad for everyone.
