My Question or Issue

I checked lots of stuff first before posting this.

I have a Spotify Premium Plan in good standing. I reside in the United States.

I'm using a desktop computer with the latest long term support Ubuntu Operating System.

In the previous long term support Ubuntu OS,Spotify was working perfectly. Having updated to the latest long term support Ubuntu OS, Spotify will not open. It will not even spin the three arrow circular thing.

I found and used the troubleshooting page and had no luck. I followed the template and tried to send it though using the terminal, but had no luck. So,I am enclosing the information you requested as an attachment.

This is the first time I've had an issue with Spotify and hope you can resolve it.

Thank you.

Here is the information I hope helps:

1. Desktop, latest long term support Ubuntu operating system.
2.Premium
3.I don't know.
4. Spotify was working perfectly in the immediately previous long term supportUbuntu operating system. When I updated to the latest version(Jammy Jellyfish),Sp[Spotify would not open. It would not even make the circular arrows spin.
First,I checked the snap store, which would not let me downloadd it,as it said it was already installed.
Then,I followed the instructions you gave. That is I could not kill it or perfomr the command under that. Then,I could not get access to the trouble shooting connection issues. Then, spotify would not start. Then, yes,I can play sound. Then, yes,it is using the installed, preferred sound card. Then, nothing worked so far.

cannot attach cgroup program: Operation not permitted

This looks very similar to the problem I had. Maybe it also refuses to start because the Spotify client files are not owned by root.

Try the solution I did in the very bottom of this issue: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Linux/Latest-Debian-package-installs-files-owned-by-user-ID...
