My Question or Issue
im use the web player in a Chromebook and no matter what, it says "something went wrong."
the thing is, the web player is still able to play music and show the now playing tab and my library
I've tried switching browsers, incognito, restarting, using the extension, and clearing cache, but nothing send to work.
can someone help me out?
Hey @Kuroto!
Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this, No worries though, I'll try to help you out. Can you try this process using another device or a different internet connection? That way we can determine where the problem is coming from. Also, does this happen when using the desktop app or only the Web Player?
Keep me posted and have a nice day!
Hi!
I've tried different connections on the same device, and unfortunately it doesn't work. However, on a different device (and same wifi) such as my phone, spotify works completely fine.
Since I'm on a chromebook, I don't have the desktop app, so it only happens on Web Player
Thanks,
Ethan
Hello @Kuroto!
Thanks for your reply. It's possible that your network is restricted and that might be interfering with the correct behavior of the Web Player. Can you try turning off any VPN services if you're using one? Also, could you try using a different WiFi network or mobile hospot to see if it works with a different connection?
Keep me posted!
Hi!
I tried using different WIFI networks, including my phone's hotspot, but nothing seems to work.
I found another anomaly, I'm able to search things up, and results do show up, but I can't access playlists, albums, or artists.
Thanks!
Hello @Kuroto!
Thanks for your reply. Let's try a few more things to see if it does the trick.
Can you make sure both the browser and your device OS are up-to-date? Also, if you have any clearing-cache extension on your browser, it might interfere with the Web Player. I'd recommend you set Spotify as an exception to see if that makes a difference.
Hope this helps, let me know how it goes!
