alright Spotify, for mac people please release the DMG file for install instead of a ZIP file, no one wants to pay $29 to buy a copy of Winzip.

Pretty sure you can unzip natively on Mac can you not? 

Spotify do provide a dmg (but its hidden): http://download.spotify.com/Spotify.dmg

could anyone from Spotify please confirm that this download link

http://download.spotify.com/spotify.dmg is still supported and contains the most recent version of Spotify? I downloaded and installed the .dmg file but it seems odd that there is no update button anywhere.

I tested it and it seems like it's version 1.0.47.13.* at the moment from the dmg, copyright shows 2017.

Thank you for the dmg link! This made it a lot easier for me to get my personal macOS setup bash/shell script to install Spotify. For those who are also looking to install from the terminal:

curl https://download.spotify.com/Spotify.dmg -o ~/Downloads/Spotify.dmg
hdiutil attach ~/Downloads/Spotify.dmg
ditto /Volumes/Spotify/Spotify.app /Applications/Spotify.app
diskutil unmount Spotify
rm ~/Downloads/Spotify.dmg
