using the Spotify web player on developer version os Mac OS sequoia is resulting in playback sounding like there's a sheet of glass lying on my MacBooks speakers, issue presents on built in laptop speakers and also when using bluetooth headphones, audio on other websites is fine which is making me lean toward this been a Spotify bug not a Mac OS one, Regardless its very annoying, Reported to both camps so whoever finds bug please squash it.
- Many thanks
Hey @jrhcrowther,
Welcome to the Community! Thanks for the provided details, this really helps us get a better understanding of the situation.
Since you mentioned that this is happening in the Web Player, could you confirm if the issue persists even in the app on your Mac?
It'd be great if you could also share which web browser you're currently using and if the same thing happens in another browser as well. Something worth doing is clearing the cache and cookies if you notice this behavior only on one specific web browser.
If there's no change, let us know what other troubleshooting steps you've tried and if any of them made any difference so we can decide what to suggest next.
We'll be on the lookout 🙂
I’ m using a macbook pro 2024, running 15.3.1. I have Chrome, Safari and DuckDuckGo. Webplayer has many issues using DuckDuckGo.
Hey there @bstjernholm,
Thanks for posting here and welcome.
We can confirm DuckDuckGo is not a supported web browser. As it is not supported, it's expected to encounter issues while using the Spotify web player there. You can check all the supported devices in this article.
In that sense, we'd suggest you use either Chrome or Safari when using Spotify. If you're having issues while using those, please let us know and we'll do our best to help. Add as many details as possible.
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
I recently upgraded to Sequoia, tried using spotify in Chrome for the first time and nothing happens, doesnt play, doesnt move like it's playing, just does nothing. So I switched to Safari and it acts like its playing but no sound. I clearly have internet because I'm posting this right now. Nothing is muted.
Hey @WillReedTV,
Thanks for reaching out.
As a next step, can you try clearing your hosts file using this guide? If possible, check if you get the same behavior in the desktop app.
Keep us posted.
