My Question or Issue

I'm not able to queue new songs for play. I'll right click to add to queue and Spotify will ignore my selection and go on playing whatever it had already queued.

In the thread we've been talking about the update to the Windows app that resolved the issue.  This has now been verified by many independent users across OS platforms.  The windows application needs to be at version -- 1.0.89.313.g34a58dea -- for you to get the fix.  If your software isn't at this version, you can uninstall/reinstall the app on your windows machine and it should try and get the latest version on first run.  From my testing the Windows Store package (Windows 10) is at this version, however the installer package from the Spotify download page is still on the previous version.

Hey @slantics,

Sorry to hear this! No worries, help’s here 🙂

Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

You can also learn more about Play Queue here: https://support.spotify.com/using_spotify/the_basics/play-queue/.

Keep me posted 🙂

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

Did this to no avail. Now, I do believe it has to do with streaming to my Google Home. Additionally, when clicking the album art it used to highlight the current track. This no longer works either.

I'm on Windows 10 and just reinstalled Spotify using version 1.0.87.491.ge2a121fc (Windows Store version).

This is also happening to me.

Works fine when playingn on my PC, stops adding songs to queue when connected to Google Home.

I just started having the same problem today, same Spotify version on Windows 10.

Reinstalled with no change.

However when I played music only on my PC it added a song to my queue just like normal. But when I switched to my Sonos speakers it removed the song from the queue and wouldn't let me add any, so it looks like the issue is with the combination. Sonos software is up to date according to app.

Same here. It's like the Google Home connection just stops the queue working and clears everything. Queue works fine again once disconnected. I've also tried everything.

Same symptoms here, but I'm Connecting to a google Chromecast Audio instead of Sonos speakers. I'm Using version 1.0.87.491.ge2a121fc on Windows 7.

My Question or Issue

I'm not able to queue new songs for play. I'll right click to add to queue and Spotify will ignore my selection and go on playing whatever it had already queued.

I've noticed the same thing as well.  I'm on update 1.0.87.491.ge2a121fc.  I'm running the desktop version on a mac.  I've confirmed this on two different computers.

I also have this issue. Using Spotify 8.4.66.733 armV7 on Android. As soon as I select my Google home mini as speaker, anything that was queued is removed from the queue, and if I try to add something nothing happens.

Exactly the same problem here. All apps up to date, queue doesn't work while streaming to Google Home. Queues fine when not using Google Home

After chatting with support, they don't seem to think it is a bug, more a 'feature' that people would have to vote on inorder for them to implement...

I went through all the debugging steps with them to no avail so maybe Spotify will never work fully with Google Home...

I don't think this problem is isolated to Google Home integration.  I use an android phone to control my desktop computer and experience the same problem.

I'm afraid they've misunderstood the bug report. This has been working on my Google Home since I bought it before Christmas.

Does anybody from Spotify read this forum or are we all going to have to report it to Support? I thought that was what we were doing by posting about it here?

I replied to that email, and now have this response. Maybe looks like they might do something about it?

same problem, WIndows10 PC, did re-install of spotify app, no solution. just cannot add anything to a queue that is playing at that time

Hello folks 🙂 i can confirme that I have a same problem also using spotify over google home (when i'm home) and funcion "Add to queue" on WIN-10 desktop app also stoped work ower 4w now (so no mather what I can't add song to queue). But I can confirme that funcion works (no mather on which device you listening, except desktop app) if I // you try add trough phone while listening. It will work (in my case) e.g. if you listening on google home it will register "add song to queue" over a phone.

by that I will conclude that desktop app has defenetly some "bug".

This is happening on my phone when connected to Google home. I think it's just since the last app update 2 days ago. I have a Pixel2 running pie.  I play on my phone and it queues properly. I connect to the Google home speaker and it does not. This has been working for months.

Sonos user here, experiencing exactly the same problem.

exactly same issue here. works fine when listening on PC but when listening via Sonos it doesn't add to queue.

in fact if I add a track to the queue via my phone and then go to the pc it has been removed from queue

Same issue when trying to queue to Google Home Mini from my phone (pixel 2 XL running pie with latest Spotify update). Queue works fine locally, as soon as I connect to the mini my queue empties and if I try to queue songs they never appear in the queue. I use this functionality daily so I am pretty annoyed about this.
