My Question or Issue

I have quite a bit of music that I've ripped from CDs and vinyl over the years.  I did most of that a long time ago, when the software, including all of Microsoft's, organized it by "Drive:\Whatever\Artist\Album" (for example:  "D:\My Music\Billy Joel\The Stranger").  In Microsoft's software, including Groove, I would simply add "D:\My Music" as a source and the software would walk the tree and figure it all out beautifully.  However, Spotify isn't doing this for me.  In fact when I add that as a source, it never actually shows up as a source.  It's as if I didn't go through the process of adding a folder, and yet I can add other folders as sources just fine.

I also have that same folder replicated on my mobile.  Google's "Play Music" app on my phone finds and uses that folder perfectly, but I can't seem to get Spotify to do the same.  What am I doing wrong?

For me this is kind-of a deal-breaker.  Whereas I've signed up for a premium subscription, if I can't get Spotify to include all of my personal music, I'll likely stick with my Google music subscription, even if it doesn't work as well on my PC.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
