Can't add local files to an existing Spotify playlist.

Can't add local files to an existing Spotify playlist.

The issue is adding local files to an existing Spotify playlist. I noticed that when adding local files to specific playlists it works as expected. I assume it's because the playlist is smaller. However, if I attempt to add a local file to a larger playlist a message appears saying it was added but the checkmark next to the song disappears immediately after and searching for a song in the playlist gives no results.

Having the same problem on mobile (Android 14).


Interestingly, if I check the same playlist in the Desktop app, the tracks are there (grayed out because they're local files on another device, but they're listed)--in fact, the tracks will be listed multiple times if multiple attempts were made to add them on mobile.


Uninstalling and reinstalling the mobile app will get the tracks to appear for a bit, but they'll disappear again fairly quickly.



Got some attention on this issue with @SpotifyCares twitter support.  If they don't respond here directly, I'll try to remember to report back.

@AndrieGo, first up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind checking if you can replicate what @Silvia_Dragoness mentioned on a different device?


@Silvia_Dragoness, you mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one? If the issue persists, could you send us some screenshots of what you're seeing on your end? We'll take a closer look. You can attach them to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.
