My Question or Issue
I just got an update pushed to Spotify and now the Custom Sort option is gone for my playlists in my library. Can we get this pushed back out? I have a specific order to how I have my playlists laid out.
Well I still have it, but I wonder for how long ... it seems their new specialty is ruining our user experience 😡
Hey there @gelkins,
Thanks for reaching out on the Community!
While you cannot custom order the full library, you should be able to sort your playlists. To confirm, does the option appear if you switch on the Playlists filter?
You can find the exact steps under Set playlist order in Your Library on this page.
If the option still doesn't appear, would you mind letting us know what app version you're currently running?
Cheers!
Hi Maria. I have the same issue, but I think the root cause is that the Playlist filter that you have mentioned above is no longer working on the desktop application following the most recent update. Selecting the Playlist filter has no effect and the filter remains unhighlighted. Other filter appear to be behaving correctly.
I am using app version:
Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.84.459.g2fcba6d7
Thanks
Hey there @LiamBarrett,
Thanks for joining the thread!
You mentioned being on the latest app update, but if you haven't already consider also performing a clean reinstall as it often helps resolve different performance issues caused by corrupted cache. You can follow the steps in this article.
Additionally what you can also test is on mobile if it's possible. Select Playlists in Your Library then Custom Order then check how things look like in the desktop app.
We're here in the meantime if anything else comes up.
Hi @Ivelina, a clean re-install seems to have resolved the issue, thanks!
