[Desktop][Friend Feed] Add button to quick show/hide Friend Activity

[Desktop][Friend Feed] Add button to quick show/hide Friend Activity

I sometimes use the "Friend Activity" feature, but I don't like it displayed all the time, and so I find it a bit inconvenient to have to go through two menus each time I feel like checking.

I think it would be useful to have an easy toggle button somewhere on the right to quickly show or hide it.

Thank you

Hey @komakino,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help Board, where it fits better.

You can remove the sidebar heading over to Settings > Display > and toggling off See what your friends are playing option.

You can find more info about the Friend activity section here

If you have any questions, just let us know 🙂

Sorry, but I was not looking for help. Rather, I was suggesting a better way to encourage one to engage in the Friend Activity feature.

To reiterate: A more convenient way of showing/hiding your friends' activity, so that it's not always in the way yet still quickly accessible.

It may be more intuitive if a bit more activity history was shown and would encourage me to not hide it as often, though that is for another topic.

Hi @komakino,

Thank you for your reply and clarification.

Since you're requesting an easier access to a feature to hide the Friend Feed, we suggest you take a look at this existing Idea which suggests that.

Take into account that the "Closed" status doesn't mean the idea won't be implemented. If it reaches the necessary amount of votes, Spotify will consider it.

Cheers.

Ah, I must have missed that one.

I understand and thank you for the communications.

I also thought about my one point regarding a more engaging set of features around the Friend Activity, and I imagined how Spotify would then basically become a more centralized last.fm, so maybe a more novel approach is needed.

Well, I'll wait to see what develops.
