Hey there @james_blonde,
Thank you for submitting this idea, we'll just need a bit more info to understand it first in order to give it the proper status.
Just to clarify, is a screenshot something you'd like to be able to include when reporting an issue in the Community?
It would be really helpful if you could give us some additional details regarding this to make sure we're on the same page. Any screenshots could also helps us get a better idea about this - just make sure that there's no sensitive/private info displayed.
We'll be keeping an eye out for your reply, thanks!
Hello,
"is a screenshot something you'd like to be able to include when reporting an issue in the Community? " - yes, that's right. It's more helpful to your team to see problems with their own eyes and it's often easier for the user than trying to explain in words.
EDIT: my mistake, I didn't mean through the community but through your contact form here: https://support.spotify.com/us/contact-spotify-support/
Hey there @james_blonde,
Thanks for adding this info!
In this case, it's already possible to attach images in your posts here in the community.
All you need to do when creating a new thread to report an issue is to click on the camera icon to add the images showcasing what's happening:
If you're having troubles seeing this icon, we'd recommend giving it a try logging in with your Community account through an incognito or private window in your browser.
Let us know how you get on! In the meanwhile, we hope you don't mind us moving this thread from Idea Submissions to our Help Boards.
Have a lovely day 🙂
Thanks but this doesn't help when reporting tag bugs through the support contact page (https://support.spotify.com/us/contact-spotify-support/) , or should we create a new thread here in the community instead?
There are probably thousands of bugs like this. It would be in Spotify's interests to make these easier to report so we can start to fix them.
Example attached: this should be an album listing but as you can see the same album cover appears three times because individual tracks are apparently being listed as albums. And another album appears twice for no apparent reason.
Hey again @james_blonde,
Thanks for clarifying this!
While you can't include a screenshot in the contact form itself, you can always attach any helpful screenshots in your follow-up messages with our support teams.
Keep in mind that you can also reach out here in the Community if you'd like to report an issue with the app. There's a helpful guide in this Spotify Answer on how you can do that. While doing so, you can attach a screenshot to better illustrate what's happening like you did 🙂
If you'd still like to see a field to input screenshots in the contact form, you can always start a new idea in the Idea Exchange like you did, making sure to include all relevant details. This way, other Spotify users who would also like to see this can add their support.
As for seeing albums listed as an EP and an album, bear in mind that we upload track information as we receive it.
However, if we receive updated info on a EP/album's metadata from the artists or rights holders, we'll make sure that any changes will be reflected on our side as soon as possible.
Hope this info is helpful but don't hesitate to give us a shout if there's anything else!
Have a lovely day 🙂
Thanks for your detailed reply. So if I understood correctly, Spotify doesn't change the metadata but instead relies on the copyright owners to update this information? If true then it seems there is little point in reporting such issues to Spotify.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
