My Question or Issue
Hello.
I have honestly tried everything to make the error code 4 go away from the PC app.
Unless there is an ongoing issue with just the app, I don't know what else to do, as it keeps going online and offline all the time.
I have tried so far
-Login in and out both using Facebook and a password.
-I have tried doing the DNS change.
-I have tried making an exception through firewall and even turning the firewall off altogether.
-I have also tried the proxy change.
-I have tried clean reinstalling Spotify.
-I have tried editing the lines in the Host document.
-I have tried resetting my router.
-I have tried turning on and off the UPnP option in the router as well.
The Web browser is working just fine and the Spotify from my phone is working as well.
This is apparently, to me, a fault with the app. After that latest update, I noticed it happening more and more.
Does anyone have any more advice to try? I am running out of options.
Thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I just wanted to do a follow up.
Apparently, the problem was the "Killer Network" App from MSI.
I am not sure what triggered that, as I had Spotify for months and the app co-existing. I just allocated the network to the highest settings for Spotify.
So far it works, so I guess that was the issue.
Hello @user-removed,
Thanks for reaching out here and welcome to the Community!
I can see that you already went through a lot of good troubleshooting, but let's see if we can get this sorted for you 🙂
We'd recommend performing another reinstall, only this time try restarting your computer in safe mode with networking enabled (usually accessible by pressing F8 during boot-up) before downloading and installing Spotify from the Microsoft Store.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
Hi Xenia,
Thank you for your help.
Apparently, when I installed it through safe mode and started it up in there, Spotify seemed to work.
Booting the PC once again without Safe Mode, Spotify does the same problem. I tried again disabling firewall/antivirus but still nothing.
Could you tell me how to proceed ?
Thank you.
