Desktop overlay keeps coming back

My Question or Issue

 There was a problem earlier this year, where the option failed to disable the desktop overlay showing track/artist info with volume, which was fixed. Discussion and screenshot here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Can-t-disable-Media-Overlay/td-p/4493732

The overlay shows every time Spotify is launched despite the option being disabled. When I enable and disable the option it stops the overlay showing until the next launch.

The issue has returned since the latest Spotify update and is as annoying as ever! Any work to re-apply the previous fix would be appreciated. Thanks!

Same problem here also. If I toggle it on and back off it goes away until next launch.
