Are Spotify users able to cast music from Spotify software (Windows 8/10 PC), but I don't see my Chromecast Audio on my available device list.
I only see my 2 PC.
I tried on both my PC.
Could someone help me with this issue ?
Thanks.
P.S.:
I see ChromeCast Audio on my Android App.

Got a similar problem here, but in the mobile app.
We have got a Chromecast Audio and my dad's Samsung Galaxy J1 (SM-J100H). The CA doesn't show up in the Spotify-app on the J1 unless we use an iPad or my Moto G (oldest model) to send the stream tot the CA.
All apps are freshly downloaded, so I guess the problem is with the Galaxy J1 which won't see an update beyond 4.4.4, unless I go the custom rom-road, which I don't really want to do on a phone which is not my own.
So, once it is set up, everything is working great, but as soon as a different device grabs the stream, it is not possible to redirect it to the CA from the phone (which is supposed to become the main control unit).
The major problem for me isn't the volume but my queue line. When I start a list via chromecast audio i cannot add tracks to that list. Ok, I can add tracks but the chromecast won't play the new tracks.
Is there a workaround?? (not by "add queue"). I just want to start a list with one song and fill it with tracks. i cannot understand why this is so hard? it was the one reason for buying the chromecast!!
please help.
Here is the solution:
"How To Cast Your Desktop Audio To Chromecast:
Audio Caster is a free app available for both Windows and OS X that lets you cast all audio from your computer to your Chromecast. You need only launch the app and select your device to begin casting the audio."

Idk if this issue has been solved but I found an easy fix which is to open spotify in the browser (https://play.spotify.com/) and then simply cast the browser tab. I think this inly works in google chrome, though. Hope this helps!
Tried Audio Cast but it isn't working for me. I can select my Chromecast but none of my apps are playing through it. Everything is still playing through my PC speakers.
Is the issue in spotify's app or chromecast ? Very disappointed by this combo, with spotify on my Mac I can control all my devices (Macbook, AV receiver, smartphone, iPad) except the chromecast...Unbelievibale...
That does work but audio quality is not great. Part of the reason I pay for the service is to access the higher quality streams.
Still no solution? Over a year later?!
Well that is a result of what littlbee talked about.
I can't believe spotify havent answered this yet. Like many others here I wouldnt have bothered with chromecast if I knew it woudlnt work with my laptop.
Just signed up to premium and went hunting like you to flnd a solution to this. Looks like I will continue using the cord out of the headphone jack on my laptop and Groove Music service. Wife will just have to #dealwithit. Why these companies are so darn anti-desktop is beyond me! Don't they know that desktop is where the power users with deep pockets are at? Mobile is where the kids with no jobs and mommy and daddy pay their phone bills are.
Power users also recommend what they use to friends and family if they have a frustrating experince with your product, guess what they are NOT going to be recommending.
Still a drag that they haven't fixed this yet...

can't believe is that the solution....
really. It has to be a joke....
what a stupid solution to have to connect Spotfy to Chromecast with my Android app, before I can stream to it from the mac osx Spotify Dekstop app.
and why is my 'now playing' not synchronised between Android and Mac Desktop apps?
It should work, try closing and re-launching the apps. It works as expected for me with the PC desktop app, iPod, Chromecast Audio, and PS3. PS3 app by the way is horrible (no album view song and playlist only) and the streaming song cuts out every few seconds. I tried a wired connection with the same results. 'The Spotify Experince' slowly losing me.
This is NOT a solution as windows does not work.
It seems to me like Spotify was designed for engineers. Typically, when an end-user calls a software designer, if they get an engineer on the phone, they hear something like, "Why would you need an easy to find button to do that when you can just write a java macro to do it for you?" I hardly ever find anything intuitive about Spotify. How is there not a button that you can just click on in the PC app to send it to chromecast?
