My Question or Issue

The 'Friend Activity' sidebar suddenly went inactive - not an empty list, but rather it shows a dialog instructing me to enable 'Share my listening activity on Spotify'. However I have had this enabled for very long (yes, I did enable it again after that opt-in update a few years ago), and I have been seeing the activity of a lot of my friends until yesterday. This was a sudden development.

Have tried:

logging out and logging in again,
restarting my computer,

reinstalling the app,

changing to the Windows Store app (after uninstalling the exe installed app),

to no avail.

Thank you! Please find attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing in the tab.

Hey @jasonjoby!

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the Spotify Community!

If you can, try using a different computer or logging in with a different account to see if the same thing happens. And just to check, could you let me know which version of the Spotify app you’re using right now?

Keep me in the loop on how this goes!

Hello Mateus, same issue for me. I'm using Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.**bleep**.449.gfda8591a. I think the new update has done this for me.

Hey @fk274!

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you try the steps I suggested below and let me know if it makes a difference?

I'll be on the lookout to your reply!

Hi Mateus!

Thanks for your response. Somehow, 2-3 days later, my problem automatically fixed itself, although I didn't install any updates or change anything else after that. I suppose I would have restarted my laptop a few times in the meantime.
The Spotify version I am using is Spotify for Windows (64 bit) - 1.2.**bleep**.449.gfda8591a. Just logging this as seems like others may have faced a similar issue on this build. Unfortunately, I do not know what changed or led to my problem being fixed.

Thanks for the help anyway Mateus!
Best,
Jason
