My Question or Issue
I have the same issue as these post(post 1 and post 2)
but it happens on both the web player and the app. when it is done skipping only the pause and play button works, cant switch albums or ANYTHING else.
this happens sometimes on startup, but sometimes like this time, in the middle of a session. Ive been listening for 7 hours or so and it randomly started skipping.
if i control my pc(web player or app)'s spotify using my phone my phone starts skipping aswell. this doesn't happen on phone if i don't connect it.
clearing cache, login out and in again, reinstalling the app(both windows or spot website), reinstalling drivers etc dont work. sometimes a pc restart helps, but sometimes it doesnt and it just starts skipping again.
but i've had twice that spotify didnt work for a entire week because of this.
the 2 videos show whats happening. the webplayers stopped after some time, but it took 1.5 minute.
my cursor glitches because of the rec software^
Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Hi there @Double_K,
Thanks for reaching out and for the info you've provided!
We wanted to check if you've tried the solutions from the other threads you shared, since you didn't mention them and they seems to have worked for the other users reporting similar issues. If you haven't, you can try updating/reinstalling your audio drivers and checking your Windows hosts file using this guide, as well as checking out this user's solution, which was to unplug their mic and plug it back in, so in case you have any external devices connected to your PC, that might be worth the shot.
Another thing that comes to mind is going through the connected apps you have on your account page in the Manage Apps section and removing those you don't use. We'd also recommend making sure that hardware acceleration is turned off in the app settings under Compatibility, as well as switching to another network to rule out any connectivity issues. If it works, then try resetting the original network.
Keep us posted.
What browser are you using? Some browsers, such as Thorium and Floorp, don't have a Widevine license, and therefore cannot play DRM-restricted content (although this isn't an issue on Linux). If you're using Chrome or Firefox, or something equally common, it should work.
Then again, since it doesn't work in the app either, that's probably not your problem.
Thank you for all the answers,
Sadly it still randomly does it.
For browser i have tried: chrome, firefox(what i use mainly) and edge.
Turning off hardware acceleration doesnt do anything.
I have tried the windows host file, and even disconnecting everything from the pc when it happens.
Any other ideas i can try?
P.S.
I am currently on holiday so any further tries will be done after i get back.
Hi there @Double_K,
Thanks for the reply.
Could you test and see if the same happens when you put the Desktop app in offline mode? Try downloading some content if you haven't and then see if the same happens. If the issue doesn't occur, then most likely it's indeed the phone or some other device that is force skipping the songs. In that case, try logging out everywhere from your account page and then logging into your devices one by one. While doing that, try performing a clean reinstall of the app on your phone if you haven't already. Hopefully, all of this will reset the connections and bring everything back to normal.
Let us know how it goes.
