I have looked through the settings options and do not seem to be able to find a way of stopping Spotify automatically loading and opening on start up?
Could someone point me in the right direction. I only want it to open up when i click on the icon/app.
I am on Windows 10.
Many thanks from a blonde!

Hey @thekent01, welcome to the Spotify Community!
Let's see what I can do to help 🙂 When you open your Spotify preferences (Ctrl+P or Edit -> Preferences), scroll down and click on SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS. You should see a tab labeled Startup and Window Behavior, under which you should be able to switch "Open Spotify automatically after you log into your computer" to "No."
Let me know how it goes!
Hi,
this is a new bug, here is one solution:

In Advanced Settings, under Startup and Windows Behavior, turn off or diable "Allow Spotify to be opened from the web". Reboot to check.

Hi Jacob
I had been scrolling through the Settings but failed to notice the "advance settings."
I have made the changes, so fingers crossed.
Thank you very much 🙂
Hi
I have the same problem in Win10 on 2 computers and did exactly what you said. BUT it still opens! What do I do then? Log out?
And by the way - why is this rather fundamental setting considered as "advanced"?

I too have this problem. I changed the settings like you said, but everytime i turn on my comp, spotify opens up.
Yeah, this has just started happening to my lappy too. Previously had the setting turned of for auto opening, and worked fine. Now all of a suddenly it keeps openinig, even thought setting is still turned of.
I'm having the same problem as everyone else. When I start up my computer Spotify opens even though I have the setting off. It only started happening recently.

I have Spotify Unlimited in Windows 10. I have set it NOT to open automatically when I log into Windows, but it still does. Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers, Steve
