How do you find podcasts?

Solved!

How do you find podcasts?

I read that in addition to video Spotify now has podcasts, but where are they on the desktop version?

So should we still stay tuned? Or switch to Pandora?

Still no Shows for me.  IOS 9.2 Beta 3.  Spotify 4.3.0.1426

This whole thing with not being able to listen to "podcasts/shows" from my desk top is so irritating.  I will have to switch back and forth from other apps. Please fix the issue Spotify ..  I need to listen to Lena dunhams WOMEN OF THE HOUR ASAP and I don't want to waste my phone battery.

I also cant find "shows" on my spotify mobile app. I'm have a samsung galaxy s6 and my spotify version is 4.2.0.732. What could be the problem?

Does this mean you're able to get podcasts on your smartphone? If so, where are you located? I've been waiting since the announcement in May!

Can't find podcasts either. I'm on Samsung Galaxy note 5, latest version of Spotify. Im considering going premium but this is a big negative. Will continue to use tune in radio for podcasts in the meantime. ..

Spotify is in a  slow (but getting faster) spiral into a steaming pile of crap. Things change without notice, become hard to find, podcasts and shows are advertised but people can't find them. Are they there? If not, why are they advertised as if they are? The developers of this application seem more like a flailing octopus trying to do too many things independently and never quite finishing one thing before going to the next.

I used to be a premium member until "offline" mode started working sporadically. That is, in "offline" mode it kept telling me that I needed an internet connection. No, the entire point of me paying money was because I was going to be going out of my service area for a couple months and wanted my music when I had to leave wifi. Then this issue crops up with many people having it. The devs wouldn't even acknowledge it. For 2 months. Paying customers, ignored.

Now ads are getting louder and louder on free spotify. But, I can't pay because it's clearly a waste of money as what I pay for doesn't work. If anything I pay for doesn't work and I don't get a discount, I am not paying.

Honestly, this application is governed by a bunch of monkeys what would be considered stupid among their own monkey brethren.

ps- Even making this comment is annoying as it ignores the spell check in my browser in order to use their own. But, their own doesn't even have "Spotify" or "spotify" in the dictionary. At this point I just think these devs are **bleep**ing with us in order to see what we will put up with.

Still no podcast (Shows) support with v4.4.0.1008 for Android Premium subscription or Desktop 1.0.20.101 for Mac Premium.

Shows was announced 6 months ago and I'm really starting to lose faith that podcast support is going to be a thing anytime soon. I don't even understand why a simple RSS feed tracker couldn't have been implemented in the short term, like most music services/players the past 10 years. It's not new technology.

So I can see "shows" on my friend's account, but I can't see it on mine. We both have premium accounts and we're running the same version (4.6.0.1466). What gives?

"Switch to Pandora," because of this?  LOL.  Um, Pandora only supports one podcast right now, and that's Serial.

Hi Adam.

Will all podcasts be available or is this only if they submit to Spotify?

I am also not seeing SHOWS. Spotify Version 4.7.0.878, Moto X 2nd Gen Android 5.1 . I am a premium user based in Argentina.

Anyone who posted earlier had any luck?

Thanks!!

I was under impression that if I get premium account ill have podcasts and video feature enabled, but looks like I was wrong 😞 Nothing changed, just ads got removed and slightly better quality audio!

I am in New Zealand, are these features not available here yet? when are they rolling out does anyone know?

Thanks 🙂

A few days after I decided to try Spotify out, Google Play Music emailed me to tell me they had podcasts. C'mon y'all. You had a 5-year head start on Google Play Music.

If you have an Android device or iPhone and you just want to be able to listen to the podcast on your desktop, then you just have to do the following:

  1. Have your Android device or iPhone and your desktop/laptop connected to the same Wi-Fi network and relatively near to each other,
  2. Open the Spotify app on both devices and ensure that both are online,
  3. Find the podcast on your handheld device that you wish to play and play it,
  4. If both are connected to the internet, then a button should appear on the handheld device that says 'Devices Available',
  5. Press 'Devices Available' on your handheld device and select your desktop/laptop from the list of devices that appears,
  6. The podcast should then play through your desktop/laptop.

This worked. Thank you!

And the same goes for the windows mobile app. But that one is quite behind the other apps anyway. Doesn't connect to the desktop version at all, crashes a lot etc.

If your phone and computer are both registered devices on your Spotify account, you can start playing it on your phone and then switch to desktop. It's annoying but a way to get around having to use your phone 100% of the time for podcasts.

Or... even if one has "shows" on their iPhone, why not on their iPad? They ARE both iOS, for Pete's sake.

And how do you "find" (as in search, rather than scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll).
