It doesn't start after updating

Solved!

It doesn't start after updating

My lap recently restarted to update some apps, including Spotify. When I open it, it only appears a black window with the toolbar above and seconds after it automatically close. I already restarted my lap again but didn't help.

Hi.

Have you tried a "clean installation"?

Here's a guide to do it, may differ a bit (I'm on windows 10)

Uninstall Spotify.

Go to "C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage" and delete everything inside the folder.

Also delete the folder "C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Spotify\Users\<random numbers-user>\"

Reinstall.

Here's installer that should contain a full version of Spotify:
http://download.spotify.com/SpotifyFullSetup.exe

Thats funny, whenever mine wont start after updating i just have to restart it.

You can also try going into Task Manager, and if there are multiple Spotify applications running, try to force stop all of them by rightclicking on them and clicking force stop.

One wont force stop, so once youve force stopped all the ones you can, try opening the Spotify application again.

If this doesnt work, I would try a clean installation as another user has suggested.

That's exactly what I had to do, thank you so much!!

Thanks for the suggestion, "clean installation" was the answer 🙂
