Major problems with getting Spotify to work at all.

Hi,

Having major problems with Spotify desktop (Windows). When I click to open Spotify, a box appears (yet the app opens as well as the box) saying – The Spotify application is not responding – despite it saying that, the app still opens. That use to be it, all I had to do was click OK then I could use Spotify. Now the box appears, and the app opens, yet, the screen is entirely black, and it stays that way. I have to press cntrl-alt-delete and end the Spotify task. This repeats at least twice, until the app eventually opens and works fine. I’ve waited to see if the app responds, yet, it remains entirely black - then I have to use Task Manager. I’ve done two fresh reinstalls, and it does not do anything. I've had a very recent fresh instal of Windows, and Windows is always up-to-date. It’s making Spotify almost impossible to use. This doe this every time I boot up the computer. After this fuss, it works fine.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

We'd recommend restarting your computer in safe mode with networking enabled (usually accessible by pressing F8 during boot-up). Take a look at this page for more info on this.

Then you can try deleting all files containing Spotify before downloading and installing Spotify from the Windows Apps store.
