My Question or Issue
The music sound just stops playing but it says the musics is playing but there is no sound. It says its playing from broswer which is correct and don't have this issue with youtube when the sound cuts out randomly. Same thing happens on app on pc.
Hey @YourAvgListener,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you try performing a clean reinstall of the desktop app and clearing all the cache and cookies of your browser?
Does the issue occur with a different account on both the web player and the desktop app?
What is the sound output device?
Keep us posted.
Cheers!
Hey @Dian
I have done a clean install and cleared all cache and cookies on my browser, still woth the same result.
It does not give any issues when im on mobile.
When im playing from my broswer it audio output shows current device, this web browser. Youtube works normal with no sound cutouts or random stops in audio in the same browser.
I have tested on another device and there was no issue with it.
Thanks.
Hey @YourAvgListener,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Would you mind giving this a try in a different browser? For example, if you normally use Google Chrome, try with Mozilla/ Opera.
On another note, we'd recommend that you make sure the browser you're using is supported. You can find more info about this here.
If your browser is on the list and you're still experiencing this on both web app and the desktop app, we'd suggest that you try updating your sound drivers. Read more about how to do that here.
Let us know how it goes. We'll be keeping an eye out for you reply.
Hi @Lyubka
I have tried using mozilla and chrome with the same result. I have also tried to update all my sound drivers with it saying i ha e the best drivers installed.
Thanks.
Hi @YourAvgListener,
Thanks for your reply and for trying out our recommendations.
This is simple but sometimes helps. Go to this link, scroll down, and select the option 'Sign out everywhere'. Then log back in from the Web Player and check if that makes any difference.
If that doesn't help, editing your Hosts file might do the trick. Just follow the steps here. Additionally, could you try using a different Internet connection? If you don't have any available, you could create a hotspot network from your mobile device and use it to check.
Let us know how that goes!
Hi @Susan_GP
Sorry for the late reply.
I have signed out of everything, it seems like it might have worked but i will monitor it.
As for the 2nd option to edit the host files, i don't see any Spotify or fastlane links there.
Thanks

your apps are very buggy on mac and PC. The sound stops playing randomly. I then need to restart the ap to make it work properly. Two diff machines and operating systems...
