Playlists - Some work, Some don't.

Playlists - Some work, Some don't.

Hi,

I'm having a problem on my desktop installation of Spotify.  I never have any problems playing playlists on my mobile device (iPhone).

The problem is some playlists I can play fine.  Others, will not.  When I try to play a song in the playlist, I get the error "This song is not available.  If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I just uninstalled Spotify & re-installed it.  This problem occurs through multiple re-boots.

Any ideas?

@jonesdcpub hey there,

here are some useful troubleshooting steps that resolve most playback issues:

  • first i'd suggest you uninstall the app, restart your device(s) and then re-install.
  • next, you can sign out of all devices here.
  • clear the cache for the app.
  • i would suggest a fresh re-install of flash which you can do here.
  • check your firewall settings to see if spotify is blocked - turning off your antivirus briefly can isolate that issue.
  • try listening on a different device to see if the same problem occurs.

let me know if that helps!

Thank you. I've tried *most* of those.

1) I tried on other devices; no problems.
2) I removed and reinstalled Spotify; no change.
3) my laptop reboots every Wednesday; problem persists.

How do I clear the app cache?

For the flash and antivirus, if it works for some playlists I have a hard
time believing it has anything to do with these. Can you explain?

@jonesdcpub thanks for coming back to me and trying those steps, it helps a lot

restarting the device after the uninstall is important, restarting it in the past or after you re-install may not be enough

just to confirm, did you delete the contents of the roaming and local folders in %appdata%?

you should try resetting your modem, and wait ten minutes before restarting

if you search edit>preferences and turn off local files and hardware acceleration, do you notice any change?

let me know how you go ^_^
