My Question or Issue
The search bar is gone, now I can only go to it by scrolling all the way up and pressing search.
Hey @BearBuddyCookie! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^
That doesn't sound cool.
Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.
Let me know if that helps, thanks! ^^
Peace
This did unfortuneatly not work.
Could you maybe take a screenshot of this problem?
And when did this issue first occurred?
Thanks!
Peace
Problem started occuring around this weekend.
Bump. Problem still persists
I have the same problem. If this an intended change from an update, please let us enable it again. It's counter-intuitive to remove the search-bar from the top next to the back and forward button.
I have the same problem (windows desktop client version 1.1.2.285.ga97985ef), it should be fixed immediately. A fast way to search is crucial.
Its not removed by an update. And the problem is even user-based, when I logout and login with my wife's account in the same desktop client she has the search bar like it should be, always on top in any screen.
Wow really strange that apperently it's an account issue. It's so annoying, even with the Ctrl + L shortcut I have to scroll back to my playlists that are more at the bottom.
Same problem Here, Rolled back the latest Update and the Search bar is back.
Search bar also disappeared from Spotify on my Mac. The date it occurred was approx Mar 16, 2019. I've reinstalled Spotify, but the search bar is still missing.
Please bring it back!
P.S. How does one "roll back" to an earlier version?
Version details:
Mac OS Mojave 10.14.3
Spotify 1.1.2.285.ga97985ef
Problem still persists.
Indeed still not Fixed!
Still the same problem here, where is my search bar?
And why is this account-bound? If I logout and login into the same client with a different account, the search bar is back.
If this is a conscious UI experiment, it is a singularly bad idea, with no apparent advantages, and at the same time making playlist editing a truly horrendous experience. Get the search bar back on every screen, please. I am not amused one single bit.
Same for me. I've always said I love Spotify because it's easy to search & add tracks to your playlists, now this process is slow and annoying. Please reinstate the original search bar.
Pretty sure that this is an intended UI Update, since there is a whole new menu point for searching that wasn't there before.
Was not particullary pleased by the changes made to the android version lately but this is definitely a No-Go for me, since quick-searching a song while being in a playlist was a feature that i used on a daily basis.
This has happened to me as well. It's really quite annoying, as I have to scroll back through playlists to find the Search button and then find what playlist I was working on. If this is a purposeful design decision it is not a good idea and needs to be changed back.
