Skipping songs rapidly with no playback. Windows PC

My Question or Issue

Upon hitting a play icon Spotify will rapidly skip through dozens of songs with no playback. I have removed and reinstalled the program but same issue continues. Plays just fine on my other devices. Clearly a PC issue? Help please. Seems like this is an ongoing issue. Thank you.

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out to us.

You can start off by trying to disable hardware acceleration:

1. Click Edit in the menu bar. Select Preferences.
2. Scroll down and uncheck Hardware acceleration.
3. Restart Spotify.

If that doesn't solve the issue, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall with the the steps here.

This is a more thorough process that removes any old files that might be causing trouble.

Another important thing is downloading the app from the Microsoft store instead of our website.
