Spotify Not Responding

Hi there,

Spotify hasn't been working for me for over a week now. Whenever I try to start it, it opens but I get that spinning ring (or sometimes just a blank screen) and it just never goes beyond that stage (I have left it for up to an hour). To be clear, I do get the top bar and side bar on the display (with the playlists and stuff) but I don't see anything in the main window.

I have tried restarts, reinstalls and ending processes in task manager and nothing has helped. One thing I have noticed though has been the accumulative size (there's usually 2 or 3) of the Spotify processes is quite large (about 300-350,000k).

Also, whenever Spotify is open its slows my PCs performance down to a noticeable degree (I have Windows 7 btw).
