So I'm listening to a Radio, a song comes up that I want to add to a playlist, I click on teh album art and select add to playlist select the playlist then BAM music stops, dissapears. I'm rocking a W7 with plenty of memory (8core) NO reason for it to crash.
Also went to play Que to add the song Still crashes
If you can help it would be appreciated cause I'm getting angry.

Yes- I just did a complete uninstall / reinstall on my windows machine and still no fix. Very annoying.
Yup. Same here....this only started happening recently. SUPER annoying.
Yeah it's weird because as soon as I restart the desktop app I can move songs around no problem without it crashing, its only when its been running in the background for a while that it happens.
I have also had this issue for the last week.
It really is getting stupid, this needs to be fixed asap.
Had this problem for over a week and nothing really in terms of what is happening from Spotify, so I've cancelled my subscription. Shame really as I loved it and had recommended it to several people.
This keeps happening to me too
I also am having this problem. Everytime I add a song to my playlist it just crashes, then I have to boot it back up and then put the song back on.
As with all the other replies, I am having this problem. I am running Windows XP Home, and I'm running the desktop version, if that helps. I assume the others are running the desktop version, as well, but I doubt they're running XP. 😕
Thank you,

It's been about a week and still having this issue. Got to love how Spotify forces updates on people automatically, so you have no choice but to adopt new changes right away. If you are going force updates you better make sure the thing works right! Also if they can't figure out the issue, is it possible to just revert back to the previous updated version, as some change they made obviosuly messed everything up.
If this isn't fixed by my next billing cycle I will cancel my subscription till they can get this program functional or I find a different program.
Seriously, fix your product. What am I paying you guys $12 a month for when you can't even fix your product while FORCING us to update into something that is a complete wreck.
Posted on another thread but the real deal seems to be here, I'm also experiencing seemingly random and frequent crashing when actively using Spotify. Issues must have started from latest update since I never had these problems before in 2-3 years of use.
Started of when drag-dropping songs into playlist but past couple days it has gotten worse, might crash at any click.
I'm having no problem adding tracks to playlists but as of 19SEP I can only remove tracks when no music is playing. Once I start listening to the playlist if I try to remove a track Spotify crashes. I'm on version 0.9.1.57.ge7405149 and a Windows 7 user.

LMAO. Next week isn't that far off. This post seems like it was written by a 10 year old who has never had to do anything for himself and whose mommy always bought him the newest and the best just as soon as he wanted it.
DUDE, chill out. Code doesn't write itself, and there hasn't exactly been a consensus duplication of the problem.
Me too! Started about 3 weeks ago. Happens occasionally 1-3 times a day. When I drag and drop a song to add it to a playlist -> crash, no song is added to the playlist. @work with w7 and @home with w8.
Hi,
I had the same consistent problem in Windows where I would try to delete a track from a playlist and Spotify would crash. Once I re opened Spotify I would be able to delete the track, but would not be able to successfully do so later. I just tried right clicking on the logo on my desktop to see what options there were (was going to delete and re-install). I ran troubleshoot compatibility, it then asked to select a troubleshooting option, I chose recommended. It then went through the motions and now seems to be working okay, and once again able to delete tracks from my playlist as normal. Not experienced any crashing.
I would recommend trying to do what I did and see if that fixes it.
Good luck
I am also having this problem lately, frequent crashes and hangs when adding songs to a playlist, on two computers (both running Windows XP, Premium subscription).
Ran the client with the console output, on the latest hang it says:
10:53:44.613 A [timer.cpp:170 ] Check failed: 0: no such timer
This is repeated 12 times, then nothing more and I have to manually kill the application.
It might seem a childish way to put it but the point is there. This crashing problem has been around for at least a week now. Hoping to have a fix as early as next week is a time frame of 2 to 8 days (more or less). That is a long time to wait for people who are paying for a currently unusable application.
If they do manage to fix it by then it will have been almost if not more than half of a billing period for which the application has been unfit for purpose. That's pretty serious stuff when you are charging people money for your service.
Software doesn't write itself but if this is a difficult issue to isolate and fix then it would lead me to think there is a fundamental flaw in the design of the software. My bet is that a couple of software engineers have gone on holiday for a week or two and the ones holding the fort aren't familiar with the code where the problem is occurring. I would be amused if that was true.
When I have seen this sort of behaviour in applications before now in my career it has usually been a school boy coding mistake that has caused it and never has it taken as long to resolve.

Don't be so melodramatic, there is nothing unusable about Spotify, there is just a decrease in features for the time being. I still listened to music at my desk for 7 hours yesterday, I still starred the songs I liked, and I still saw what my friends were listening to. Losing the playliost feature is not the end of the world.
Also, if anyone is having major issues currently with crashing, don't forget you can use the web player for the time being to get to your music whilst the Spotify team work on this.
