Spotify does not play certain songs

Solved!

Spotify does not play certain songs

The desktop version (on Windows 10) of my Spotify does not play some songs, while some others it does. When it happens the name of the song becomes green and the play button turn into pause, but there is no loaded image of the song at the bottom left, all I see is the classic black cd symbol, and the progress bar does not move.

When I try to play the same songs on my phone through the app there are no such problems.

I have spotify premium for family and this is very annoying.

I tried reinstalling the app several times but it was useless.

Attached there is a screenshot of the situation

Thank You

I had this problem too, I reinstalled the Windows app for like 10 times and nothing happened. But here's the solution I found! It works 100%! Finally you can enjoy your songs again.

Same, this is super annoying, EVERY song I had, Is gone and EVERY song won't play, I'm basically paying 10 a month for nothing, just a crappy ui that hasn't been updated in years.

Same here! Can't seem to be able to fix it...

Same issue here, but with Spotify Premium without family.

On my laptop, it does load these songs, but it doesn't on my desktop pc.

Same or similar problem. Some of my local files won't play, no matter how many times I switch my personal music folder off and on as sources in the settings menu. Spotify just won't recognize them.

I've also tried relocating folders with songs that aren't acknowledged by the application but to no avail. This is extremely frustrating!

By the way, I have a Spotify Premium account, in case this makes any difference.

Yes, this worked!! Thank you!

Didn't work for me. The Spotify and fastly extensions weren't present in the hosts file.
