Hey folks!
This app behaviour is quite odd. The issue being related to the account also seems a bit off.
Although creating a new one fixes things up, I'd like us to have a deeper look into this and what's causing it.
In my opinion this might somehow have something to do with the app's cached data, related to the account.
To see if this is the case, please remove your cached data by following the steps here.
In case this doesn't help, see if going for a complete clean reinstall of the app would make a difference.
Lastly, in case the issue persists even after this, try creating a new free account for testing purposes.
Log in with it and see if the issue would be present on it as well.
We'd also appreciate it if you shared with us a few details so that we can report this to our tech teams backstage. We'd need:
Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout for your replies 🙂
I thought I was the only one having this problem, but apparently that's not the case, and it doesn't have anything to do with our devices since the problem was fixed in a new account. So I'm really hoping they'll address and fix the issue for everyone soon. Try contacting the support team directly and telling them you're not the only one having this problem, and it was fixed by changing accounts.
I am having the same issue. None of the previously mentioned adjustments have worked.
Hey @skyyy1,
Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, we couldn't see the full description of your issue, so could you please reply in this thread and let us know what happens when you try to turn down the volume? The more details you provide, the better!
It would also be helpful to share the model, OS version and Spotify version of the affected devices along with some screenshots or a short video of how things look on your end.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
I just tried this, and it didn't work - after trying everything else mentioned here in this "thread."
Basically I will play a song, try to adjust the volume slider to turn it up/down, and it does not work - music stays equally as loud as everything else on the PC.
Only sometimes does turning it completely down (to mute) does it mute, other times it will just keep playing at the exact same volume - it's as if the slider just is not doing anything at all.
Thanks

Hey @skyyy1,
Thanks for the video.
Are you able to adjust the volume for the Spotify app from the Volume mixer? Do you get the same behavior in the web player?
You can also try some troubleshooting like clean reinstalling the app and logging in with a different account.
Let us know how it goes.
in web its working good
The same happening with Amazon Music
Well, it's doing it again, after the latest update, yet again the volume goes up and down. I check my system volume sounds and its fine. but to hear anything in spotify I have to have the volume slider to max. Why does this keep happening?
