Stubborn Error 18

I have been doing the same thing over and over again for the past century and I'm finally fed up:

1. Spotify needs an update - Update it

2. Starts up with "Installing spotify" then pops up with an error 18

3. Completely uninstall spotify

4. Restart PC

5. Delete spotify.exe (Because somehow it is being used by the system which is why I can't install)

6. Reinstall old verson, but recently if I try to update or close the program, it just forces me into an update which gives me an error 18.

I either need to know what is using spotify.exe so I can kill the **bleep** thing or at least get some work around that would make it so I don't have to restart my PC constantly.

Hey, thanks for reaching out.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. Please send a screenshot and if that uninstall didn't work please try to use the steps here 🙂

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I already tried both of those things, I'm trying to find a solution that doesn't involve restarting my PC.

I feel obliged to reply to this, as I have noticed that YET AGAIN, You are not reading the complaints, you are simply and stupidly copy and pasting the same answers! HE CANT TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN THATS HIS ISSUE! Premium membership deserves a premium customer service? I could do better myself!

Sorry to hear that you are not able to enjoy your music.

Please create another user account in your PC and install Spotify there.

If possible include a screenshot of the error message you are getting.
