My Question or Issue
The web player does not work for me while I am signed into Spotify and on firefox. It says "Something went wrong try reloading the page" whenever I try to use it. The strange part is, whenever I am using chrome or log in while in incognito mode it works fine, but whenever I am in normal browsing and I am logged in it does not work.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Hey @Sixthworm
You could try wiping out your cookies and cache. You don't have to wipe out all cookies if you're not bothered to log into everything again, just use Manage Data and search for Spotify ones.
That should generally do the trick. Also, if you have addons, try going to Troubleshoot Mode (it's under Help menu) to see if it's still acting off with all addons disabled.
Let me know how it goes!
Hello,
Thanks for the response, but I tried both of these and it did not work, even when I tried clearing my cache, going into troubleshoot mode, then visiting Spotify it did not work. I can visit the main page just fine, it is only when I go to the web player it gives me the error.
Hi @Sixthworm,
Thanks for trying the steps shared by @Sebasty.
Could you check if you have any updates available for your Firefox browser?
Additionally, tell us if this happens when using an incognito window (Menu > New private window).
Keep us in the loop.
Apologies for the late response,
I do not have any updates available for my Firefox browser, but it does work when I use a private window.
Hey @Sixthworm,
Thanks for the post.
If the web player works in a private window, then you should clear the browser cache and cookies. You can check out these guides for how to do this in Firefox - here and here. After that check if there are any available updates for the browser again.
Let us know if that helped.
Hello,
I tried doing this and it worked, but if I refresh the page or open another Spotify tab it brings the error again. Also, I tried doing them independently to see if it could be one or the other but it seems to only work if they are both cleared.
Hey @Sixthworm,
Thanks for coming back.
Just to confirm, does this happen when reinstalling your Firefox browser? Also, we suggest that you clear/delete any remaining folder/archive related to Firefox if you need to reinstall (if possible, delete any Firefox entry in the system registry editor (you can use a specialized software for it)).
Once you do this, restart your computer and tell us if the issue still persists.
We'll be standing by.
Hello, I am having the same problem too. The error reads as follows:
Something went wrong
Try reloading the page
I have tried a million solutions all across the internet, but it won't work.
hey there @JustADev,
Thanks for the post.
Can you let us know if this is happening on every browser you try or just on Firefox, and if so, which version?
Keep us posted.
