My Question or Issue

Have been using Spotify desktop app for quite a while with no issue. Recently, I have reinstalled Windows 10 on my laptop for better performance.

After re-installing Spotify, it starts up as a blank page with only 3 dots on the top left corner and nothing else. Here are the methods I tried with no success:
1. Clean reinstall 5 times
2. Install Spotify on Microsoft Store
3. Clear %APPDATA% Spotify folder
4. Using compatible windows version
5. Moving the Spotify folder
6. Turn off hardware acceleration under the 3 dots
7. Making firewall exception on ESET
8. Praying for god

Wish to hear from you soon

Hey there @graysonhoho

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, have you followed these specific steps when reinstalling the app?

On another note, would you mind trying with a different internet connection to check if that makes the difference?

Lastly, we suggest that you try clearing your hosts file with the instructions in this article.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

I have the same issue like you, and I observed no issue for version v1.1.60.

v1.1.61 and v1.1.62 (most recent one) just leave me a blank screen.

And I realize the App (both Windows App and Spotify Installer version) does not load correctly in Traditional Chinese Windows. It does, however, load correctly in English Windows. The attached screenshots are from freshly installed VMs.

Hey @StevenLau24

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, and welcome 🙂

Would you mind letting us know if you've already tried any of the suggestions that @Eni posted above?

If none of these do the trick, it would also be helpful if you can confirm your device's make, model and OS version.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi @Novy

I simply changed the OS language to English (US) and the login screen loaded correctly. Once I signed in I changed the OS back to Chinese (Traditional) and everything ran smoothly. Probably something happened for the translation?

I’m using Windows 10 21H1.

Hi @Novy and @StevenLau24,

I recently encountered this same issue and found the solution on a traditional Chinese website. We simply need to rename the file zh-Hant.mo under Spotify\locales to zh-TW.mo. I believe this is a bug for Spotify on Windows with system language set as traditional Chinese, and hope Spotify team could fix this as soon as possible. Thanks!

You're awesome dude! Instantly solved the problem, brilliant!
Wish the Spotify team could fix this bug soon though, Tradtional Chinese user might be having this problem lately.
