Windows app doesn't respond to play/pause when controlling another device

Device is a surface book 2, running the latest microsoft store version of spotify. The app loads all my playlists when starting up, except for my liked songs. When playing songs on my phone or any google home speakers, the app recognises that it's playing on a different device, but pressing play/pause or next has no effect on my music. The windows app works fine on my PC which is on the same network. The problem doesn't happen all the time, it's seemingly random. I've tried reinstalling the app, signing in/out, using in on a different wifi network, but nothing has changed.

Hey there @vlld_-mte9xs8

Thanks for reaching out - help’s here!

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall instead of the regular one?

We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. It'll also get you the latest version of Spotify. This usually tends to solve issues like the one you're experiencing. Make sure you perform it on all the devices where this issue appears.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
