Worked for me, at least initially.
Thanks for the fix information. It worked perfect after that.
Worked for me.
If you open regedit as administator and close spotify (via task manager) it worked. I clicked on cancel the error went away. Must admit the error was very predominent. opened and closed Spotify a few times and tested OK.
Resolvido, obg, espero que nao volte.
Looks like it fixed my problem.
I was getting this error too and tracked the root cause of it down to the 'Show songs from iTunes' setting under 'Local Files' in the settings page (which you get to from Edit > Preferences).
I don't know why that option is even there as I don't think I've ever installed iTunes on this particular computer (though I have installed it on other computers in the past, and possibly had my music folder on the F:\ drive on my previous computer too), so perhaps it's a setting that 'roams'.
In any case, toggling that setting to off solved the problem without me having to resort to editing the registry to suppress the error message (which in my opinion is not a great idea as it might cause real errors to be suppressed in other applications).
After digging further I found that my music folder contained an old iTunes music library file (iTunes Music Library.xml) that contained lots of references to the F:\ drive (which was where my music folder was on my previous computer).
Correcting those paths in the XML file solved the problem completely.
Nice notice @smfeest!
I've marked your reply as a solution, in case other people who are using iTunes files expiriencing the same problem. Thanks!
thanks for this .....it worked and now the message has gone....excellent!
Thank you so far so good; didn't want to fiddle with registry either!
This worked for me! Thanks.
This works. although it took me a few minutes to work out how to change the value.
A screenshot would help those even less tech savvy than me.
