[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Come On Spotify.. It would be nice to be able to select a radio station to play the radio/clean  version of the vast music library.

Looks like Spotify just updated their Windows Client, Guess what is still missing? You guessed it, an explicit button, once again spotify has spent THREE WHOLE YEARS ignoring their customers requests.

Lets get on facebook and twitter to let them know we are disapointed.

Looks like the Mac Client was updated as well, with no control over explicit content. Lame.

Why has this suggestion/request sat for two years? This is a very easy option to add to the application.

If explicit = 1 or 'Yes'

then "don't play"

else "play"

end

What's the hold up?

Make it happen Spotify!

I gave up waiting. Have dropped my premium accts

Why do you think they won't give us the button? Are there any legal reasons
to not give us a button?

I am a premium user, love the service and appreciate the connection with UBER!  However, explicit/parental controls are an absolute must! Time to stop "considering" this and start listening to your customers!

I will return to Pandora, if this feature isn't added soon!

I agree the marked "solution" isn't a solution, it is a suggestion. I have wanted this feature ever since I started using Spotify and have asked for it before and still nothing. Today, I was served a video ad that had explicit content in it while my kids were in the car! Pandora has an explicit filter, why can't Spotify? PLEASE allow us to filter out explicit content!

Everyone, please tweet to https://twitter.com/SpotifyCares and let them know about we take issue with their lack of action. A short URL for this thread is http://bit.ly/spotifyplz.

Please use twitter and facebook and other avenues. It is apparent that they don't read their own forum.

I listen to Spotify at work all the time and an Explicit button would be greatly appreciated. I love to use the Genre lists, but I find myself shying away from many of them due to multiple Explicit tracks. I'm actually considering switching back to Pandora at work due to all of the extra time I need to spend policing Spotify throughout the day.
