[All Platforms] Sleep Timer

I am a new user to Spotify from NZ and the first thing I miss having moved from iphone's built in music player is the sleep timer. I understand this feature stopped working in one of the recent versions of spotify App. If it is a compatibility issue partly related to iOS 5, may I suggest that you build a sleep timer into the App itself? 

Also, as suggest by one other Spotify user, Nyx, it would be even better if you could include an alarm featuer so we can all wake up to our favourite playlists within Spotify.

Thanks again for all the great work you guys are doing and we really hope you would consider this new idea.

Update: The issue with sleep timer seems to be working in iOS 8.

I agree all the comments. It is terrible and a shame that Spotify is not able to integrate an alarm clock. Your hypocritical comments are not target-aimed and a affront for your clients. SInce 2012 you are aware for this problem. It's time now act!!!

The basic iOS alarms are dumb and Plain. I wanna go to sleep and then wake up to some head thrashing white chapel or some awesome eye opening breaking Benjamin. But this is a great idea and I thought of inputting as I was making my alarm to wake up with the pup. Although offering an alarm to premium members only would bring in profits, offering it to the basic subscription would bring in more downloads and I believe it would skyrocket the application. It's not hard really, I bet a simple team of two designers could do it. **bleep** if I had the knowledge I'd do it myself but I'm a dumb dumb:) but yeah all you need to do is find a way to sync it to the users clock and trigger activation as soon as the time that they set struck and then boom, you'll be...THUNDERSTRUCK! Haha think about it Spotify, ponder, understand the necessity that people have for music in their lives. Stop the people from having sweet dreams bc they are not the eurythmics, and wake them up in an eruption of music such as, well...Eruption by Van Halen

This is so easy tp implement! Please prioritize this in your backlog, any programming language has a native timer and you just need to call the pause method after X minutes set by the user. In the meanwhile I recommend SleepTimer from Carecon GmbH for Android, it's working fine with Spotify

I think that this is one of the features from Amazon Music Unlimited and iTunes that is a major game-changer. It is super helpful for when I use my music for sleep or for really long car/plane trips. Then when I fall asleep my phone/tablet isn't wasting the battery. Spotify really should implement this into their system. I know that there isn't such thing as "a perfect music app" but Spotify could get pretty darn close if they were to listen to the suggestions that their users give them. I know it's difficult to implement these kind of ideas, but if we as users (the ones who are paying them) aren't happy, we are more than likely going to switch to a different service like Google Play, iTunes or Amazon Music Unlimited. I've already tried Amazon Music Unlimited and was considering switching when I saw the little things that made Amazon Music Unlimited better than Spotify. Spotify needs to up their game. There are competetors out there now!

I recently switched over to spotify from I heart. I loved I heart but am very upset that it is now forcing you to pay to use a service that had been free before. Spotify seems like the next best thing, but where is the sleep timer? Why is this not a thing already?

Yes please!!!! I asked  them to put that in so long ago on the comments in the app store but they never responded. I would love to have that because then I won't sleep through my alarm in the morning because my alarm is music. Also I can't fall asleep without it so sleep mode would be amazing for me and I would definitely rate the app 5 staRd.

Hi, I'm kind of confused as to why it's been so long as this hasn't been implemented yet. I just absolutely hate paying for a spotify subscription and then having to use Pandora for its sleep timer setting. Really defeats the purpose. Does anybody know of any other music apps that include this feature and I can switch to??

There is no way this is hard to implement this timer idea into the app itself. The timer is one of the most basic app on any device/os... I can make a playlist for sleep, but what about the daily mixes I do want to enjoy to discover new music? 

Take the little time it takes to do it guys, you're one of the biggest app ou there, show your customers your appreciation by answering their 5 year awaited demand!
