[All Platforms] Sleep Timer

I am a new user to Spotify from NZ and the first thing I miss having moved from iphone's built in music player is the sleep timer. I understand this feature stopped working in one of the recent versions of spotify App. If it is a compatibility issue partly related to iOS 5, may I suggest that you build a sleep timer into the App itself

Also, as suggest by one other Spotify user, Nyx, it would be even better if you could include an alarm featuer so we can all wake up to our favourite playlists within Spotify.

Thanks again for all the great work you guys are doing and we really hope you would consider this new idea.

Cheers

Update: The issue with sleep timer seems to be working in iOS 8.

Please move forward on this. It is a great idea and I need it to stop making my wife mad at me when I fall asleep listening.

Sounds like a good work around for iOS  sleep timer, but those of us in Android land are still left out.

If you have iOS, then you’re in luck. A great solution was provided yesterday by NZDE

If you have iOS (Apple software) then start Spotify, then use your clock, the countdown timer gives you options of what to do when it reaches zero. One of the options is to stop music!! Brilliant.

That is indeed a shame. I found that out yesterday when I showed some work colleagues the fix suggested by NZDE. The Android community weren’t happy... again

I'm on Android, and I've downloaded a third party app that does the same thing perfectly - I just can't believe they won't bother adding the function into the Spotify app itself...

I know right. Very lazy of them. 😞

What is the 3rd party app for android?

Thank you!

I can not believe Spotify had the nerve to send me a survey form asking me how they did sorting out the problem... newsflash Spotify... you did NOTHING!! You put a bunch of customers in a room and told us to sort it for ourselves. Wow, I guess the marketing staff missed the memo on Customer Service.

For those of you fortunate enough to have iOS, the solution offered by Subscriber "NZDE" is as simple as it is brilliant. Simply start Spotify as normal (then sigh as usual and wish there were a sleep timer), then go to your iOS system alarm. Use the countdown timer to select how long you want music to play. One of the options when counter reaches zero is to stop music.

Thanks very much Spotify... oh no wait.. you did nothing. Thanks very much NZDE and iOS for helping Spotify to keep its subscribers.
