[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

Disappointed that Spotify is so out of touch with it's subscribers; just about every other music service has a widget. Time to start looking at other options I guess, especially since you can just export your playlists to other services.

Hey @nowidget_cya how is Google Music on premium? I've looked at Deezer and aside from actually having a widget it also fills in a lot of gaps that Spotify doesn't like "automatically resume playing music after phone call" toggle, which Spotify has decided must happen, even if Spotify is force closed, force stopped, and disabled, with cache cleared - you cannot stop it from playing music after a call, which can be embarrassing in the car with a client and you take a phone call and upon hanging up you get cannibal corpse blaring out.

So would you recommend Google over Deezer?

I paid spotify every month for premium features. Previously lyric gone, now widget gone too. Disappointed

customers complain,

we tell them of by adding widget as a "new feature idea" that we wont add... dumbass! 

Time to vote with my feet and leave Spotify Premium?!

I'll just pile on here as well. I'm loving that there are 103 pages of comments now. Terrible decision. Widgets are one of the best features on Android. I used it every single day. The communication was horrible (they didn't even list it in the "what's new" when the app updated). Just stopped working out of nowhere. Anyway, I'm taking advantage of the free month on Google Play music and may be dropping my premium membership here. In the meantime, I was able to roll back to an earlier version and turned off auto updates. Bad form Spotify.

Hi Guys

I used the Spotify widget every day, as a developer myself I can appreciate the work you have to put into maintaining these kind of features but the widget made my life so much easier and nicer. I use one for audible too so I have all my audio at my finger tips. Please reconsider if audible can do it as well as some not well known audio apps then can it be that much extra work?

I literally made this account just to say this. Please bring back widgets, I like being able to see what song is being played without pulling something up, using the phones features for that is obviously less convenient! Please take all this feedback in consideration.

How could you remove this future. Used it all the time. Always avalable on the home screan to just press play and continue from where I left. Dont you know what your users value??? Re introduce NOW please!!!
