[Android] Android Widget

Having a home screen widget for Android would be really nice. All other media players have one on Android so it'd be great to see that in Spotify too. It'd make things so much easier to just be able control to Spotify from your home screen instead of swiping down for the notification bar or opening the app. It's really simple functionality so please can you add it.

I'm glad the widget is gone.  Now Spotify is gone from my phone, too.  LoL

We use the Spotify Android widget every day. The alternative you've offered doesn't even compare. Please listen to your customers (more than 12,000 of them now having voted in this thread) who want the widget back and would like you to provide a far better level of human customer service too.

I have subscribed as premium for quite a while now. Spotify for me has always been the easy to use service and never had any complaints. The important thing here is that, now that you got rid of a service/feature, you lose a point compared to your competitors. And I am exploring the alternatives and will jump ship if the widget is not back soon; basically soon as I built up a playlist of my favorite songs; which will not take long. The decision to get rid of widget was made with zero considerations for customers in mind; and it appears either management does not care or realize how their own customer use their products. 

Compared to the other topics on Idea Exchange and you will see how much people actually care about this feature. The longer you are noncommital in bringing the Widget back, the bigger the damage. I wager there is a lot of people in the same position as I am, basically waiting for a favorable response to this issue, and if none is forthcoming, then the exodus begins.

I did not find out when the widget will come back. Or why it was removed. Could someone from Spotify say when they will bring it back, please?

TODAY WAS THE WORST MORNING DRIVE EVER!  Switching from my Dunkin App back to Spotify has never been so annoying. So Pandora took the cake today.... keep that in mind.... all because of their widget Spotify. You gon' learn today!

Nobody wants to use the notifications drawer. You've added an extra step to something I do 20+ times a day. Bring back the widget!

I'm afraid that the widget is not coming back. Some of us are waiting for Spotify to feel the heat and rollback on removing the widget, but if they have changed the business model to push visual ads for paying customers the only way to deliver those is through the app so from that perspective it makes sense to get rid of the widget and force users to open the app. Time to actually jump ship.

Bring the widget back. Removing the widget was anonsensical. Many many years with Spotify and this really ticks me off.
