[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

Reading through other older threads, it sounds like the Desktop platform had editable playlists and queues a few years back. Spotify removed that with one of their updates. Spotify does not want you to fully pick and choose what you listen to any more than Pandora does. On Desktop, we cannot change the Queue and can only listen to a playlist or album straight through, or randomly. It sucks for all of us, but moreso for Android.

We all want a new interface despite what platform we are on, but right now, our threads are separated by platform so we don't have a single, strong voice.

The thread for Desktop has over 700 Kudos, and has been going for a long time. We are coming up on out 4 year anniversary in 2 months. That is disgusting and shameful. If I was a Spotify tech, I'd be embarrassed by the interface. I've said that once my own few personal reasons for staying with Spotify are offered by another music service, I'm gone.

This thread was started in February 2014. Maybe in 2018 they will consider making the change?

We are all going to have to yell for this and not just ask politely.

Just read through all the posts. Get your act together Spotify. How, after over 2 years of regular customers begging for this simple feature, you have not delivered on this request is beyond me. It's no longer good enough to say that this is a "good idea" but that you need more support in order to effect a change. If it's a good idea common sense would dictate that it should be added anyway if only to make the app more user friendly. After two years of requests and no action I can't decide whether it's down to gross incompetence on your companys part or whether you really just hold users of the app in contempt (i suspect it's the latter). In short, get it sorted asap or I too will start to look at your competitors' services! Bloody ridiculous is what this is.

There seems to be some confusion. Reordering of tracks is now possible within the upcoming play queue, but not playlists. This is a significant improvement, and better than the other way round, but it would still be a lot better if you could edit playlists as well.

I would like to add my voice to request that spotify add this feature asap. The competition has caught up alot of ground so Spotify please do not ignore user requests.

I love Spotify. This feature seems simple enough and the type of request that would have a major impact with a small amount of effort. Pick the low hanging fruit. Let's get it done!
