[Android] Rearrange Tracks inside a Playlist

On my iPod I can manually move my songs around that are in my playlist, but I can't do the same on my phone which is what I mostly use. It would be easier to have that option on all devices.

It's true, it started 3 years ago, but this can change the you make a video
explaining.

I have all the tools to make it (video screen capture software and time
since I'm on vacation) but my Spotify is in Spanish (unable to put the
interface in English) and it probably will confuse the developer turning in
into thinking that all this is something language related when is not.

The custom filter is what should turning the three vertical dots in every
song into a three horizontal bars that actually are the sort controllers
(hard to explain for me without images)

However I will try to make a video even with a Spanish GUI and English
subtitles because it's better than nothing and perhaps finally we can make
it understand how wrong and frustrating all this is.

In the meantime vote for this idea, there must be some way that this company will look to the most voted ideas (it has about 800 votes) even if its asking for the most basic playlist function (order in your own way) 🙂

The status update says: "Hey folks, we know this idea hasn't had an update in a while, but we want you to know we still think it's a good idea. If we didn't we'd change it to 'Not Right Now' to keep you all in the loop. Thanks for continuing to bring us your feedback and comments around the Android app. We're listening"

We're listening too and guess what? We're listening in the same order because we can't change the order of the songs on a playlist. 

I'm sure you think this is still a good idea, are you joking with us? What's the point of making a playlist if you can alter the order of the songs being played? 

Do you use stone as playlist material? Is there any way we can tell you that this is available ON ALL PLATFORMS EXCEPT ANDROID. 

Again... We can't change the order of the songs on a playlist because the customize function doesn't work. We can reorder alphabetically (who cares listening to your music ordered by name?) and also by putting first last added songs but we can't orders the songs, they stay in the playlist as they were entered. 

Get it?  If we put song 1 and then song 2 and then song 3 we are tied to that order FOREVER. We can't listen song 3, song 1 and song 2 because CUSTOM ORDER DOESN'T WORK ON ANDROID. 

I wish you understand Spanish so I can clearly tell you how pissed off I am 🙂

Spotify is showing such contempt for their paying customers. They know very well that this is an omitted basic feature. Asking us to 'vote' for it? Ridiculous. Please folks, tweet to @__spo__ and @spotifycares 

The only way they'll listen is if we embarrass them.

Agreed. Will start regularly tweeting and facebooking them. I encourage
everyone else to do so, too. Do it daily if you feel like it. This needs to

Weirdest thing is, we can already do manual list sorting on Android: if you have an individual song playing from an album, click on the symbol in the right top corner, and you get to slide around the album's songs JUST LIKE WE WOULD LIKE TO DO WITHIN A PLAYLIST. So the piece of missing code is even smaller than we ever thought... ridonkulous!

Incompetence that this bug wasn't noticed in testing, let alone that it still hasn't been fixed.

Sure it is about something going really wrong in testing. The guy who made
the "custom" sort function, what was thinking about custom? It means for
him/her "as it was entered for"?

Already tweeted yesterday to @SpotifyCares and another help account in
Spanish, please do the same so somebody will pass this to the devs as an
urgent thing to fix 🙂

Also tried the last beta and the missing feature is still not there.

(The custom option isn't the problem, its only function is to show the playlist as is it without sorting it in a special way. The ability to rearrange tracks is fully independent.)

Anyway, I still believe Spotify is terrified by Apple Music. Since it came out, they have stopped listening to their customers... Still waiting for the lyrics feature too... I'm using both for the moment but now that Apple's music library has catched up Spotify's...

Not waiting much longer for such a stupid feature!
