Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

@sethpackham I completely agree with you. I signed up for the trial and will be cancelling service to return to my other music streaming service. I like the ability to download songs for offline play in the event I have a bad signal, but I don't use it enough to justify spending more. Most days I use the radio feature, which I can do that on the free version with ads, so I don't see the point paying for this service. If I want to stream on multiple devices I can do that with the other music service or just make multiple free accounts for spotify and deal with ads. Sorry, but limited to a maximum of 1 device per account is not getting my business. Heading back to my old service and will keep around the free spotify account incase I want to listen to something specific... with ads.

I'd be very happy as well to be able share my account with my wife. Right now it doesn't make any sense to buy 2 premium subscriptions in 1 household for me, and of course it's not really affordable.

Any progress on this? This is a feature which was requested awhile ago... 🙂

Really disapointed with Spotify on this issue. I'm really trying to hold on and not switch to another service. The ability to listen on another device might really be worth the extra 8 dollars a month.  Can we at least get a definitive yes or no on this. and if the answer is yes is there a timeline for this? Is there any progress being made on this? What's the hold up?

I just need two streams, one for me and one for my wife.  When a third device starts streaming the oldest would get kicked.

Just signed up to the forum in order to support this. Have been a premium subscriber for some time and this is one feature that's severely needed. My wife and I use Spotify a lot and it's a pain when streaming is cut off in one room because it has started in another. Not willing to sign up to a second full account and I think it's totally reasonable to allow access from more that one device to the same accont.

Yes. I need multi-user. It's worthless to share an account I can't share.

Here's another family waiting for a deal, this topic has been running for over a year? We already pay for two accounts for the adults, the teenagers want it too.

Rhapsody has up to three simultaneous devices for $15. Although I left Rhapsody to give spotify a try, I think I will be going back. I loved the features of Spotify's app, but my wife wants nothing to do to with a service that breaks her from her music. So disappointed.

My wife and I would be on board with the $17.99 $15 would be better but $17.99 is better then $20. But..... after seeing (Thanks purplefizz) that this has been talked about for over a year..... I'll prob shut one account down. Sorry Spotify - you're lossing money. You would have got $17 , now you only get $10.
