Discounts for Students

Hello there,

I am a German student, really appreciate using Spotify it is. Are there any planes or possibilities out there to get a discount as a student or for signing for longer periods - lets say about one year or so.

Hey @daniel987 as I'm sure you've heard, Spotify now offers student discounts in dozens of markets, including Germany. You can find out more info here. Thanks for your continued feedback!

I have been paying for spotify for over a year, possibly two. And now they just came out with the 5$ for students.

I think that people who paid for the service as a student should get those equal months at the discount price once they have terminated there enrollment.

So what I propose is that if before the discount, suppose that I had paid for 15 months. I should have the option to get another 15 months (after the original 12 months given) at the student price since it was not available and I was a committed customer who paid the full 9.99 a month.

I think this is a reasonalbe option you can reward your customers you have had for a long time, make them happy, and continue to recieve those committed customers.

More kudos for this and a discount for longterm commitment (6month/12month). We both know there will only be Spotify in the foreseable future - if you play it right.

Grow bigger by adjusting to customer demands and providing the same dicounts in all markets.

that's kinda like saying, "Hey, I bought this milk at the store for $3.00 last month and drank it all, but noticed that you're selling milk for $2.50 now. I want a credit for all of the milk that I have purchased because you're selling it for less money now and I'm entitled to a discount..."

The point is: if there are discounts available for students in US or UK, why not to make them here? I understand that this is a different country with different economic situation. But it is the same Spotify structure. Sooner or later they will have to do the same.

Giving discounts only to UK and US students seems quite unreasonable to me.

Plus I don't think validating whether someone is a student would be particularly difficult, since I use plenty of services where I had to prove my student status. Dropbox wanted my university email address, a laptop discounter and a student-organization wanted the certificate of enrollment.

10€ per month is not an option for me at this point as is unlimited since it has no offline mode.

Canada checking in - yes please! I would be willing to sign on for a period of time or keep month to month with a student discount!

I'm a Canadian student that would love to get premium spotify as well. A student discount for Canadians would be greatly appreciated.

Learn to pay for the artists! Buy albums and don't wine about 5$, it's ridiculous how little the hardworking artists get anyway. Considering how much better they make your life, music and the production of it is highly underrated, and you and Spotify are making it worse!!!

I applied successfully for student discount at beginning of December 2014. Spotify did provide initial help. However I have been charged full $9,99 rather than the $4,99 as promised now for three months. Spotify was aware of this and continue to charge me the full price for Premium which I paid dutifullly as their was no student discount. I have contacted Spotify in December, and January but has not yet been corrected. I have lost money unjustifiably and feel agrieved at their blatent disregard that I will contact the FBI Fraud unit, as this is illegal, and cetainly believe they should be prosecuted and taken to court.
